Founded in 1878 and rebuilt in the 1950s, the distillery has long been a defining voice in Tennessee whiskey and has soared to new heights under the leadership of trailblazing distiller Nicole Austin. George Dickel is Lost Lantern’s first heritage distillery partner.

Lost Lantern worked closely with the George Dickel team to create this special collaboration, the first-ever release of the distillery’s Tennessee wheat whiskey. A marriage of 6 casks aged for 4 to 8 years, it exhibits what makes wheat whiskey truly special: rich notes of nutmeg, chocolate banana bread, and warm oak, as well as a remarkable softness on the palate.

George Dickel is a massive distillery, and that means they have plenty of room to make whiskies beyond what we regularly see, just to experiment and push the boundaries. That’s what this hot-climate wheat whiskey is all about. Very different from either the rye or the Tennessee whiskey, this is a soft, warm whiskey reminiscent of a wheated bourbon, but with notes of strawberries and vanilla.

This is part of our trio of Single Distillery Series releases from George Dickel, along with Fabled Forest Tennessee whiskey and Wild Woodland rye whiskey.

Proof: 120.1
Quantity produced: 677 bottles
Format: 750mL
Age: 4 Years (Components range from 4 to 8 years)
Mashbill: 100% wheat
Barrel Entry Proof: 116.4 proof to 121.9 proof
Distillery Location: Tullahoma, TN
Details: Non-chill filtered; no color added

Barrel Info: This whiskey is a marriage of whiskey from the following casks:

Casks 1 and 2: Aged 4 years and 10 months

Casks 3 and 4: Aged for 7 years and 11 months

Cask 5: Aged for 8 years

Cask 6: Aged for 6 years and 5 months

https://shop.lostlanternwhiskey.com/products/golden-grove-george-dickel-straight-tennessee-wheat-whiskey
