Westland Bundle

This bundle is a way to experience both of our first Westland casks side-by-side.

Westland Distillery is a transformative voice in American single malt, and has long been on the vanguard of creating whiskey that truly reflects where it’s made. In Westland’s case, that’s the Pacific Northwest, which has a unique climate offering growing conditions for grain and maturation conditions for whiskey unlike anywhere else in the world. Westland’s distillery is in the heart of Seattle, and it ages most of its whiskey farther north, in the Skagit Valley, one of the breadbaskets of the Pacific Northwest.

Westland is a great innovator across the board, and it has broken new ground in many areas: its use of grain that is optimized specifically for whiskeymaking, and malted locally. Its use and protection of regional species of oak. Its use of local peat. Its commitment to local graingrowers and regenerative agricultural practices. Westland is truly one of the most exciting distilleries in American whiskey and in single malt across the globe.

So it’s our honor to offer our first two casks from Westland. Both of these unpeated American single malts are made from Westland’s signature five-malt recipe, which combines barley brought to several different roast levels. Both spent substantial time in new oak barrels: the first was aged entirely in new oak for 7 years. The second spent 5 years in new oak and then was finished for 3 years in a barrel that previously held Washington Cabernet Sauvignon. Trying them side-by-side is a great way to experience Westland and the emerging terroir of the Pacific Northwest, and to see the effects of a powerful wine finish alongside a whiskey aged entirely in new oak.

Lost Lantern Westland Distillery American Single Malt Finished in a Red Wine Cask 8 Years Old
Also made from Westland’s signature five malt recipe and aged for five years in new oak before being finished for 3 years in a Washington Cabernet Sauvignon cask, this brings spice and red fruit flavors to the forefront.

Both whiskies are bottled at cask strength and are non-chill-filtered and natural color.
