The Lost Lantern Discovery Club is a subscription whiskey club. Every other month, members will receive a new Lost Lantern release, exclusively available to Discovery Club members, from a rising star or hidden gem of American whiskey. Members also receive a number of other perks, including early access to new Lost Lantern releases, special online events and tastings, and exclusive access to past Discovery Club bottlings.

Signup Bottle: Once you purchase the Discovery Club, we’ll immediately send you your first bottle. This special signup bottle is our way of getting you something to enjoy right away until the next release rolls around! The current signup bottle is a single cask bourbon from Pine Bluffs Distillery in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. See below for more details!

Unique Releases: Every other month, you’ll get an exclusive new bottling from a rising star distillery that’s redefining American whiskey. These distilleries, most of them first-time Lost Lantern partners, are hard-to-find and not well known outside of their home turf. The Discovery Club ranges across all styles of American whiskey. Roughly 50% of releases are bourbon, and 50% are other styles, like rye, American single malt, and more unusual whiskies. 

VIP Access: Get early access to ALL new online Lost Lantern releases, and to occasional releases of otherwise sold-out whiskies. Members also unlock access to all previous Discovery Club bottlings that remain available.

Expert Curation: As always, the Lost Lantern team has personally visited every single distillery we work with (and many more besides), making sure that we’re truly finding the most unique and interesting distilleries all across the country. We hand-selected all barrels directly from the distilleries themselves. 

Behind-the-Scenes Stories: Learn the story behind each bottle and each distillery, what makes them special, and why they stand out to us. We occasionally host conversations and tastings with distillers so you can hear their stories directly from the founders!

Reduced Shipping: To keep the Discovery Club itself affordable, we do charge for shipping (covering a portion of the cost ourselves). But we offer one cent shipping on any order of three or more bottles!

Pine Bluffs Wyoming Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This Discovery Club release is one of our favorite finds so far. It hails from Pine Bluffs Distilling in Southeast Wyoming on the western edge of the Great Plains.

The folks at Pine Bluffs have the ethos of an estate distillery (one that grows all its own grain), with one caveat: they don't actually own the farmland. Instead, they work very closely with the neighboring farmers, and source almost all their grain from within about 20 minutes of the distillery. Pine Bluffs whiskies truly reflect the climate of this unique corner of Wyoming and the High Plains.

This distillery, which still has minimal availability outside of the region, will soon be talked about in the same way as cult distilleries like Frey Ranch in Nevada and Corbin Cash in California.

The Discovery Club single cask is a 5 year old sweet mash straight bourbon (60% corn, 20% malted white wheat, and 20% malted barley). It has the classic softness of a wheated bourbon, plus distinctive notes of pine and dried grass. The palate has balanced oak, grainy softness, and notes of dried leaves and cocoa nibs. Like walking into a forest.
